Today marks four weeks in Springfield. Though nine of those days were spent in Michigan.
I have my Missouri driver’s license. I am a registered voter. My Jetta has its new Missouri plates. Now, I just need a library card.
I am just about officially settled. My apartment has a few more boxes to move. The cats arrived last Sunday and it didn’t take them long to settle in. I sorted all the boxes and files in my office that I inherited from the last media coordinator. (Confession: Most of the stuff went straight into the storage closet next door.) We moved furniture around today and put up some artwork and the dry erase board, yearly calendar, etc. My office, where I spend most of my waking weekday hours, feels a little more like me. And I love it.
It’s stifling hot here but I think it’s worse in Nashville so maybe life’s not so bad in Springfield.
